Sponsors and Sponsor Letters

Choosing a Godparent/Sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation is a serious matter.  As in all things, we strive to choose or be the person who will be  perfect for the role they, or we, are being asked to fulfill.  In the Catholic Church that means someone who has received all the Sacraments of Initiation:  Baptism, First Eucharist and Confirmation; someone who is living as a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ as an active member of a parish; someone who, if married, is in a marriage recognized by the Catholic Church; and someone who is 16 years of age or older.

If you have been asked to become a Godparent and are required to attend a pre-Baptism or Baptismal Prep class you can register by calling the Parish Office at 732-286-2222.
