Our RE Mission

Our aim of Religious Education (RE) for Children and Teens is not to produce students who master all the Catholic Doctrine, but rather to provide an environment in which young people, along with their parents, learn about their Catholic identity and traditions to be able to make a faith response to the invitation to live as disciples of Jesus, continuing His mission and putting faith into action.

Grade-Level Session Breakdown

Religious Education begins in 1st Grade here at St. Luke’s. Our elementary and early middle schoolers in Grades 1-6 meet twice per month on Mondays or Wednesdays from 5:30pm-6:30pm.  Our middle schoolers in Confirmation Prep Year 1 and Year 2 (Grades 7 -8) meet twice per month on Mondays or Wednesdays from 6:45pm-8:15pm

Sacramental Preparation for Children

Sacraments are at the heart of our faith. The liturgical rituals of First ReconciliationFirst Eucharist, and Confirmation celebrate the important moments of our faith life. Our Sacramental Prep programs prepare both child and parents for the experience of these important moments in their faith journey.

If your child has completed second grade and has not yet celebrated the sacraments of Reconciliation (Penance) and Eucharist, they may join RCIA for Children.

Get Involved as a Catechist or Volunteer

Please consider joining the Religious Education Team as a Catechist (teacher). Catechists are given a multitude of resources and training to be in the classroom with students so they feel comfortable and prepared to live out and teach the Catholic faith. To volunteer or get involved, please contact Lisa in the RE Office.
